Presenting Our New Online Weight Loss Surgery Seminar
One of the first steps you will take toward renewed health with bariatric surgery is attending a weight loss surgery seminar. During your research you may have noticed that most bariatric practices offer some kind of seminar before their consultation; and there’s good reason. The seminar is a way for you and other patients to meet the members of the practice, learn about the procedures available, and understand how those options may or may not be suitable for your particular circumstance. Bariatric surgery is not an easy decision, and understanding more about what is involved, both during surgery and in life after surgery, can make the process and decision far less daunting.
While our practice offers free monthly seminars both at our Garden City and at Patchogue offices, we also know that not all of our patients are able to make it to an in-person seminar. For those patients, we have developed a comprehensive online seminar in which the key members of our staff discuss the procedures, considerations, benefits and risks of weight loss surgery. During this approximately 45-minute presentation, you will meet two of our patients who are also employed at NYU Langone Long Island Surgical Associates and will be with you along your journey to a healthier life.
Once you have completed the online seminar, we will be notified and will contact you to schedule a consultation with one of our surgeons. During this time, we will also be able to assist with verifying insurance benefits, so we encourage you to submit your insurance information during the online seminar sign-up process, or call us with it as soon as possible.
If you would prefer to attend a seminar in person, there are many benefits as well. First, you will have the chance to meet face-to-face with key staff members, including our bariatric coordinator and one of our four surgeons. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions, both during and after the seminar. To sign up for an in-person seminar click here
Whether you opt for the online or in-person seminar, we look forward to speaking with you and answering any questions you may have about bariatric surgery.
